About Louise

Louise-Bonfitness-Pilates

I took up Pilates initially as a hobby and to keep fit. Shortly after noticing the difference to how it made me look and feel, I soon became a convert to the Pilates method. For me Pilates was the way forward keeping body, mind and spirit energised for the long term, so I decided to train as a Pilates mat work teacher with the Pilates Foundation on their year long intensive course. I graduated in 2010 and am currently a member of the foundation; which includes continual learning for the length of my teaching career.

My Background

I started dancing from an early age, shortly after I received a scholarship with the Royal Academy of Dancing, London.

For more intensive training I attended the Arts Educational School, Tring; which led me to audition and gain a place at the Central School of Ballet in London on their 3 year graduate course. The graduate year included a 4 month tour around the country, culminating with performances at the Lilian Baylis theatre, London.

After Central, I took part in several dance projects, one with fellow Central graduate, the now highly successful choreographer Michael Keegan Dolan of the Fabulous Beast Company.

Due to a back injury I decided to step away from dance and turn my attention to fashion.

A few years later I took up Pilates and enjoyed the physical and emotional benefits so much I decided to take a Pilates Foundation course to become a mat work teacher.
